Northeast Metropolitan Park is a 420-acre multiple-use recreational area with athletic fields, tennis courts, a BMX racetrack, and a skate park. The land was acquired in 1998 and the park was opened in 2001.

This is a hog oiler that was found by park rangers in North East Metro Park. The hog oiler was invented and patented in 1913 and remained in production until the 1960’s. It was used to provide an easy way to oil hogs for protection from insects and parasites.
